Kereama Taepa studied for his Bachelor of Maori Visual Arts at Massey University in Palmerston North & continued on to gain his Masters Degree. Taepa's involvement in the arts has been broad & varied including bronze technician at the Dibble Arts Foundry & participation in various national maori arts symposiums, workshops & hui.
He has also been involved in the fashion industry through his label 'Urbanmaori'. As a finalist within the Miromoda Indigenous Fashion Awards, he twice received entry to show at NZ Fashion Week in 2010 & 2011 within the Miromoda shows.
Taepa taught art within the Te Whare Wananga O Awanuiarangi Art & Visual Culture Degree for four years. He currently teaches photography, digital and graphic art and sculpture within the Wairiki Institute of Technology Diploma of Art.
He currently exhibits both nationally & internationally & gained the Supreme Award for 2D Art at the Molly Morpeth Art Awards in 2008.
